Welcome to the Los Angeles Short Film Festival.

March 14-15
Promenade Playhouse
1404 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA 90401

This is an International Film Festival. Everybody can submit. Film festivals are still the best place to screen independent work and get it noticed. With YouTube and Vimeo so overcrowded, good shorts often drown in a sea of bad.
Showing the best of the best is a priority at Los Angeles Short Film Festival. We provide filmmakers an opportunity to share their shorts with an enthusiastic and responsive audience that’s eager to see new films, new faces, and new art.
Los Angeles Short Film Festival – where emerging talent finds a place to shine!

Schedule 1 is also a film about my 4-year battle with ovarian cancer and my quest to survive this terminal disease. After 2 debulking (removing cancerous tissue) surgeries, 18 rounds of chemotherapy and a year of immunotherapy, conventional medicine does not have a cure for me. I thought I was out of options, but then I found a plant, a plant banned around the world for 80 years, Cannabis, and it shrank my tumor! This movie is about more than my story about managing my cancer, it is equally about adding my voice to jumpstart a dialogue surrounding cannabis and cancer and to push a path forward for desperately needed research. Cannabis IS medicine. Science has proven it. End prohibition. Here’s what my film is NOT about:
Schedule 1 is not about recreational cannabis
Schedule 1 is not about disparaging conventional cancer treatment
Schedule 1 doesn’t offer medical advice
Schedule 1 does not focus on cannabis for palliative care.
Schedule 1 is not a cannabis story about vaping contaminants, regulations, taxes or recreational vs medical cannabis
Schedule 1 IS about the anti tumor effects of Cannabis.
