Welcome to the 9th Annual Los Angeles Short Film Festival
Saturday-Sunday, April 15-16, 2023 This is an international annual event held in Los Angeles CA. We screen local, national and international films. Film festivals are still the best place to screen independent work and get it noticed. With YouTube and Vimeo so overcrowded, good shorts often drown in a sea of bad. Showing the best of the best is priority at Los Angeles Short Film Festival. We provide filmmakers an opportunity to share their shorts with an enthusiastic and responsive audience that’s eager to see new films, new faces, and new art. Los Angeles Short Film Festival – where emerging talent finds a place to shine! Enjoy SCREENINGS, RED CARPET, AWARDS CEREMONY and Q&As with filmmakers. 1% of all merchandise, ticket, and VIP ALL FILMS pass sales go to FREE ARTS FOR ABUSED CHILDREN (www.freearts.org). Ma Fatsh Leah . Music Video. 4:20

Clotilde’s melancholic voice tells of a young woman tortured by the interminable wait for her lover in the emancipated Cairo of the 1970s, while the bewitching piano of Alexandre Saada conjures the buzz of a restless city that feeds the sweet madness of her hope, and ours with it. We’ve all seen angry and entitled ‘Karens’— throwing tantrums on the internet, threatening to call the police on bird-watchers of color, yelling at fast-food workers, making a scene in a Walmart. Many have wondered if, in a time of frustration, we were being too much of a Karen. Join us at your local community center where women named Karen come together to support each other through this cruel twist of fate. A riotous short film from comedian Katie Goodman and the women of the internationally-touring, award-winning, satirical comedy show Broad Comedy. Take a seat, Karen. We’re here for you. |

KETRIĀM
Writer Richárd Sasvári This world is an utopia for most stepparents who found the perfect way to get rid of the unwanted parts of their new marriages: their stepchildren. If parents divorce and one of them starts a new family with their new spouse they tell the child from the previous relationship that they going to be reborn into this new family, this way they can become a full member. The rebirth process can be done between ages 1 to 17 since the age of the majority is 18. The rebirth process lasts till the due date and has different stages. The child who is destined to be reborn has to choose a pet that will be going to stay with them throughout the whole ordeal, and become their companion in their new life too. The child also has to quit daycare, kindergarten, or school since they have to start over again, and continuing these would be redundant. Sport, music, art and other activities have to be dropped as well. The same goes for their friendships, after the farewell party, they have to cut ties with them. All of these steps are crucial to making the children fully accept their rebirth. Many times the baby’s gender differs from the stepchild’s, in these cases, the parents hide this from the kid. As was said before this process ends with the due date. While the mother is giving birth they take the child away to a different wing in the hospital, and they give them an injection while telling them that when they wake up they are going to be in their newborn body. This is all a lie, of course. They never gonna wake up after they get the injection. They take the bodies to the hospital’s basement for cremation so the children can never find out the truth. |
